So here we are! Going on 58 years old and creating a new life. How did time go so fast? How am I here already? Kids are gone and living their own lives, making their own choices, and not living close to home. Thank God for technology or I’m not sure if I would be able to stay in touch with them. It seems as if phone calls are far and few in between anymore. I call my mother almost every evening because she doesn’t have any of the latest technology. Oh yes, it’s definitely a different generation!  Being over fifty I feel as if we are right there in the middle of it. We were raised without all of the technology but boy do we remember the beginning of it. I heard a song the other day and remembered it was the first song played on MTV that I can remember! A Billy Squier Song! The beginning of music videos. Oh yes, I remember Martha Quin was the host, not sure of the year though I need to ask SIRI!  Anyway here we are looking at retirement and what we do to exchange our time for money in the future. At this point in life we no longer want to spend any time on those things that we just don’t enjoy! We are now looking at life as the next season and maybe we just feel a little more laid back than in the days of our youth when we were trying to figure out what we wanted from life and who we were. I say it’s time to do what we want and I’ve decided to drive a big truck!

My biggest Repurpose project!

As life continues to travel at lightning speed we find ourselves doing the things that we didn’t have time for while working at our jobs, raising a family and as in my case, I owned and operated restaurants in different parts of the country, worked as a Personal Trainer while owning a gym and wellness business and worked at different jobs in my lifetime and not one of them do I have regrets. Good or bad I try and learn from every situation and season in life. Now I understand that yes many women can “Do it all” but I want to warn them that that pace will take its toll on our health at sometime in our lives.  So where do we go from here? Well I suggest you dig deep and reflect  on where you have been and where you want to go. Write down your passions, goals and pace yourself but get started! I’ve learned over the past few years that I love to paint and I’ve worked hard and slowly built a business around it. Now not everyone is going to go out and buy a 1978 step van to re-purpose into a Mobile Boutique but I’m sure that you have a dream! Something that just plain makes you happy!

I have a passion for painting mermaids

Always remember that your life belongs to you. Well that’s kind of true. My faith in God comes first because I realize that without my understanding and belief that all things are given by God and that includes our gifts and talents and all things can be taken away.  I’ve learned to hold loosely the things of the world and treasure the eternal. That was a bit of a bird walk but I said all of that to say, keep the things of life in perspective and ask  your heavenly father what you need. Matthew 6:33 says, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. We may not all get rich and I don’t preach that, but we can all make a good living and live in peace and that my friends is simply amazing. Peace in your heart and contentment is priceless. So as I continue this journey of a creative business I will continue to grow and move forward at a pace that will give me continued peace in my heart, make a good living and be able to create the life and purpose that was meant for me. Just work hard and never quit learning, and please do something that scares you! Something that will challenge you because staying comfortable is not always healthy for It’s good to create or build something from scratch, not having done it before. It could be as simple as a new recipe, a paint color, a book on something that you’ve never read before or listening to a new Podcast! Celebrate this new season and adventure in life!! Learn and get started!!! I can only imagine the day that we move into our cottage near the beach where we can ride our bicycles everywhere and life is a little less hectic. That’s my dream what’s yours? Do whatever you need to do to keep your dreams alive!

Have you ever wondered how I made my REPURPOSED TINS?

Let me show you how to take a simple tin can, before it goes to the landfill, and repurpose it into something beautiful and useful. You can also add a decorative board to make a simple and beautiful display.
